Google sign in Scholarship for Africans and North America

The Generation Google Scholarship was created to assist aspirant students pursuing computer science degrees in becoming leaders in their sector and excelling in technology. For the 2023–2024 academic year, chosen students will earn $5,000 CDN or $10,000 USD (depending on where they are studying). The strength of each applicant’s dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as their demonstrated leadership skills and academic achievement, will determine which candidates get the Generation Google Scholarship.

We strongly encourage students who identify with groups historically underrepresented in the technology industry, such as women, Black and African Americans, Hispanic and Latinx people, American Indians, and Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, to apply. Who may apply?

Those interested in applying must:

Be enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s degree at an authorized university or college OR be a senior in high school for the academic year 2022-2023.
Plan to enroll or get accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelors degree at an institution of higher learning that is accredited in the United States or Canada for the academic year 2023–2024.
be enrolled in a program in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical subject.
Establish a solid academic history.
Show initiative and a desire to make marginalized groups more visible in computer science and technology.

Applying procedure

You will be required to submit an online application that asks you to:

Background data in general (e.g. contact information and details about your current and intended universities)
details on the family and the home
Resume/CV
academic records from the school you are presently attending (and prior, if applicable)
Answers to questions with a short essay (questions will be available when application launches)

Rules and regulations

The Generation Google Scholarship award must be used to pay for the students’ primary university’s tuition, fees, books, supplies, and other necessities for their classes. Recipients of scholarships must register as full-time students for the 2023–2024 school year. Before the winners are chosen, enrollment will be checked, and all scholarship payments will be provided to the winners immediately to be applied to tuition and other educational costs. These scholarship award terms and conditions must be signed by a parent or legal guardian for applicants who are under 18 at the time of acceptance. Any scholar who ceases to satisfy the eligibility conditions will have their award withheld, and any scholar who fails to continue to fulfill the eligibility standards will have their award revoked.
