Here’s Everything We Know About “Bridgerton” Season 3 So Far
More Kate Sharma, or I will cause a scene.

Kate and Anthony will be back.

Personally, nothing is more important to me than #Kanthony. Thankfully, Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey have both confirmed they are returning for the third season. Jonathan has said he plans to be at every Bridgerton sibling’s wedding, and Simone wants Season 3 to show Kate’s adjustment to being the new viscountess. One thing they both agree on: They want Kate and Anthony to have their first baby! MAKE IT HAPPEN, SHOW.
2.
And so will Daphne!

Showrunner Jess Brownell said that we’ll keep seeing Daphne in the third season, but she wouldn’t reveal how much. Hopefully it’ll be at least as much as we saw her in Season 2!
3.
Season 3 is going to focus on the relationship between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, and it will be based on Romancing Mr. Bridgerton by Julia Quinn.
Mr. Colin Bridgerton, perhaps your eyes are giving away what your lips are too scared to say.
Penelope has been pining after this man since the show’s very first episode, so it’ll be a relief to see her patience (and ours) pay off. And sorry to anyone who disagrees, but Colin’s long lingering glances in Penelope’s direction are NOT entirely platonic. They’re just not!
4.
This means that the show is officially no longer following the order of the books.

The third book in the Bridgerton series is An Offer from a Gentleman, which centers Benedict. Romancing Mr. Brigerton is the fourth book.
5.
The plan, according to Shonda Rhimes, is for the show to get to each sibling’s love story and have eight seasons, so there’s no need to worry about Benedict.
6.
Even though he won’t be the romantic lead in Season 3, Benedict will still be important.

Jess Brownell said that even though the show isn’t getting to his love story just yet, Benedict will still be “a vital part of Season 3.” I can only hope this means we’ll get more scenes of Benedict being high on tea.
7.
Penelope and Eloise will address their big fight at the end of Season 2 at some point.

It doesn’t seem like it’ll be a quick resolution, though, since Eloise will have found “a new friend in a very unlikely place.”
8.
Filming has already started!
I spy the makings of a new social season. By the looks of things, it would seem the third installment of Bridgerton is officially underway.

Penelope is going to start the season officially giving up her crush on Colin Bridgerton.

And she’ll be focused on “finding a husband who will respect her independence” so she can keep being Lady Whistledown and get away from her family.
11.
As for Colin, he’ll be disappointed to find that Penelope is giving him the cold shoulder when he returns from his travels.
Netflix
Which he’ll DESERVE after what he said about her at the end of Season 2. In order to win back her friendship, Colin will make the incredibly questionable decision to help Pen “boost her confidence” so she can attract “the perfect husband.” The perfect husband is YOU, dummy.
12.
The book contains multiple references to Penelope losing weight, but the show is (thankfully) not including that storyline.

Which is great, because implying that Penelope could only get Colin’s attention after losing weight is stupid, inaccurate, and boring.
13.
We have a new Francesca Bridgerton!

Hannah Dodd has joined the cast as Francesca Bridgerton, replacing Ruby Stokes.
14.
The show has cast a few new characters, starting with Daniel Francis as Marcus Anderson, a “charismatic presence who lights up any room he enters.”
Amanda Edwards / Getty Images
He’ll be “attracting the notice of certain matriarchs in the town — and the ire of others.”
15.
Sam Philips will be playing Lord Debling, a lord with “eccentric interests (and enough wealth for anyone to overlook them).”

16.
And James Phoon will appear as Harry Dankworth, a man who isn’t smart, but makes up for it with “serious good looks.”
17.
We can expect the show to come back at some point in 2023.
18.
And finally, Regé-Jean Page will NOT be returning to the show, despite initial rumors to the contrary.
